There are some great thrill rides in Las Vegas these days, but the best indoor ride, at least from a coaster lover’s perspective, is the Circus Circus Canyon Blaster ride.
For an indoor coaster, the Canyon Blaster goes really fast – up to 55 miles per hour. And it gets quite high too, reaching a peak of 90 feet. Take a look at the coaster from the front seat rider’s point of view in this video.
What is so great about the Circus Circus Adventuredome is that it is all indoors, and all climate controlled. This is huge in Vegas, when not only can the summers get brutally hot but the winters can get quite cold too.
This indoor coaster is a blast year round, even when it might be freezing outside or 110 degrees in the blazing mid-day sun. On those types of days, Circus Circus is about the best place in town if you have kids.
As far as children riding on the Canyon Blaster coaster, they must be at least 48 inches tall to get on the ride. But if they are not quite tall enough yet, there is a great kid’s coaster for them to ride too.
As for the specs of the coaster, the ride is 2,000 feet long, or about 2/5 of a mile. It takes just under two minutes to complete the ride, and there are 74 and 72 foot vertical loops along the way.
It’s really just a great, fun coaster to ride, the type you can ride again and again without getting tired or getting a stiff neck. You can get an all day pass to the Adventuredome for about $25 for adults and $15 for kids (with kids under 33 inches getting in free of charge with a paying adult).
When you compare it to most theme and amusement parks today, it’s a great deal. And it’s the best way to beat the heat at that.
