Aliante Station Casino and Hotel

The Aliante Station Casino and Hotel is located about 20-25 minutes north of Las Vegas in the far northern suburbs of the city, right on the edge of the desert and the mountains. It is in a new, lovely area, and the hotel itself, opened in 2008, still has that brand new look to it.

Built by Station Casinos as a “local” gaming spot, it nonetheless still attracts out of town visitors seeking a beautiful hotel and casino that is away from the traffic and crowds of the Strip.

Like a number of other Station casinos, the Aliante shares some great dining and entertainment venues with the surrounding planned community.

Right next to the hotel is a new 16 screen theater complex, complete with IMAX, which is great for families with kids.

There are also some wonderful restaurant options on-site, so you don’t have to leave the grounds to eat either. There is Camacho’s Cantina, serving Mexican food, and MRKT Sea & Land, an upscale surf and turf type place.

In addition, there are a number of restaurants lining the resort, including T.G.I. Fridays, Il Vino Cucino Italian food, and a full mall-style food court, similar to that at the Green Valley Ranch casino, where there are a number of different fast food options.

The pools at the Aliante Station are quite well done and stylish, like those at Red Rock. There are stylish lounge chairs and cabanas, as has become the norm at upscale Vegas pools.

The rooms in the hotel are really quite beautifully done, with a stylish modern decor. There are flat screen TVs, iPod docks, and great views of the local mountains.

This is a perfectly wonderful little hotel in a clean, new area. If you don’t mind being 20 minutes away from the action at the Strip, it is a fine place to check out, especially with a family.

You can have a great time without ever leaving the resort for a couple days, hitting the ample casino (with over 2,500 machines and all the usual game tables), lounging by the pool, and either going to a movie or hitting the hotel bar/club, the ETA Lounge, a stylish night spot with a DJ booth.

Two similar places to check out are the Red Rock Resort and the Green Valley Ranch Spa, both also Station casinos located in the suburbs, but both with their own different styles.
