Ravella Hotel Lake Las Vegas

The Ravella Hotel at Lake Las Vegas is in a truly stunning location. This man made lake in a former desert valley is a truly Mediterranean setting on the outskirts of Las Vegas.

When it first opened in 2002 as the Ritz Carlton, the resort was the talk of Vegas. Big time celebrities came, as did major performers including Andrea Bocelli, who taped his first pop music live performance at the resort, later released as a DVD.

Then, the recession hit, and the Ritz closed on 2010. When it opened up in 2011, it had a new name, the Ravella, and it had the same magnificent facilities and setting on Lake Las Vegas. The Ravella is a boutique hotel, with just under 350 luxury rooms, each with that “Ritz” level of design and sophistication.

These days, you can get rooms at the resort for quite a bargain. And the service is said to be quite good still too. Its casino is reopening, with a good amount of floor space.

There is also great golf at the lake, and there are boat rentals too, a perfect way to enjoy this pristine environment or to take your fishing beyond the shoreline.

There are two restaurants at the hotel, the Medici Cafe and Terrace, and another, the Firenzi Lounge, serving more casual fare.

While there are no clubs or other night life at the resort, you can find some nice night spots at the neighboring MonteLago Village at Lake Las Vegas.

This is not really a place to go for the excitement or the stellar nightlife. But it is really a wonderful place to enjoy some peace and serenity after a stop at the Strip, the perfect counterpoint to all the noise, lights, and thrills of Vegas.
