The Palms Las Vegas Casino and Resort
Of all the great and new places along the Las Vegas Strip, none is cooler or more of a celebrity magnet than the Palms Las Vegas Casino and resort.
Located on the west side of the 15 freeway on Flamingo Avenue, the Palms is a block west of the Rio, another trendy Off-Strip hotel.
First opened in late 2001, the Palms immediately became a place for the cool younger twenty-something set, including many of the Hollywood elite. The hotel has a very trendy neo-retro decor, from its sleek pools to its music venues and clubs to its fantasy suites.
The Palms opened a second structure called the Fantasy Tower, which has both regular hotel rooms along with the uber-deluxe Fantasy Suites and 6 Sky Villas atop the structure. The Sky Villas each include an individual outdoor pool the runs right to the edge of the building and offers heart-stopping views.
The Palms is also known for its incredible night life. The hotel is host to the first mega club in Las Vegas, Rain Nightclub, ever a popular celebrity hangout. The Palms also houses Moon Nightclub and the only Playboy Club in all of Las Vegas.
The Palms does target a very similar demographic to that of the slightly older Hard Rock Hotel, in the 21-30 year old age range. So if you are looking for a more mature crowd, this might not be your scene.
But if you like the young, hip, and vibrant crowd that gathers here, then you will love this hotel. It is truly stylish, has great clubs, equally fantastic music, and the rooms are every bit as stylish as the public spaces.
The views at the Palms are also absolutely fantastic. In the upper rooms, you can get views of the entire strip that are beyond belief, and views of the western mountains and surrounding landscapes are great as well.
And if you are looking for good eating, you can get that here too. There is gourmet fare and incredible views in Alizé, Asian cuisine in Little Buddha, and some of the best views in the city in the find Italian restaurant tucked away atop the Fantasy Tower called Nove Italiano.
If you like young, hip crowds and don’t mind being across the freeway from the Strip and the other resorts, then you might just love the Palms.
