Trump Las Vegas Hotel

Located just off the Strip, next to the Fashion Show Mall and across from the Wynn and Encore, the Trump Las Vegas Hotel is currently Las Vegas’s tallest habitable structure. (The Stratosphere Tower is twice as tall but is not considered habitable.)

Opened in 2008, the Trump Hotel is 620 feet tall with 64 floors. It has a reflective gold glass exterior, giving it a distinctive appearance that is hard to miss even as a part of today’s varied and soaring Los Vegas skyline.

The Trump is known for its excellent service, which is top rate even by Vegas standards. The hotel doubles as a condo tower, with condo owners having the option to rent their units back as hotel rooms, much like the Vdara Hotel at CityCenter, on the southern Strip.

The rooms at the Trump are all excellent, as you would expect from a high end resort. The hotel is also a member o Leading Hotels of the World.

The rooms at the Trump are all quite large suites, and they have top furnishings, including the best mattresses and linens. Due to the building’s location, next to the low-rise mall and relatively off on its own, most of the rooms have excellent views, either of the Strip or of the mountains.

The lobbies and public areas in the Trump are all quite gorgeous, spotless and wonderfully decorated. No wild pool parties here like at some hotels, just understated high end elegance and a sophisticated clientele.

There is no casino at the Trump Hotel, but there are two excellent ones right across the street at the Wynn and Encore. In fact, the Trump is a perfect location from which to enjoy these two casinos, and often you get a similar level of sophistication in terms of room and service, only for a significantly lower price.

There are two wonderful restaurants at the Trump, DJT, which serves contemporary American cuisine and which received a Micheline star. Then there is H2(Eau), a poolside restaurant, which is more casual but also quite good.

The Trump remains a bit of a hidden treasure in Los Vegas, one that can offer great value for what you get. It can be an excellent choice if you are looking for a high quality room with top notch service at a price that is often less than you would pay at one of the nearby five star resorts.
