Caesars has just announced an exciting new project it is calling the Linq, which will be built along a corridor (presently an access drive) between its Flamingo and Imperial Palace properties.

The Linq Ferris Wheel Las Vegas

Proposed "The Linq" Ferris Wheel photo: Caesars

In a press release available on their corporate website, Caesars made clear that the project will connect not just to the Strip across from Caesars Palace but to the three adjoining Caesars-owned resorts along the east side of the Strip, Harrah’s, Imperial Palace and Flamingo.

Up until now, traffic flows between the three hotels has been difficult at best, requiring pedestrians to follow often indirect and circuitous paths to exit onto the Strip before enabling them to head to the resort right next door. (This has been especially true at the Imperial Palace.)

The project will cost some $500 million, and it’s centerpiece will be “The Las Vegas High Roller,” a 550 foot tall Ferris wheel slated to be the tallest on Earth (taller than both the similar London wheel and one planned to be constructed across from Mandalay Bay).

It sounds like a very exciting project and one that is just what that part of the Strip needs to both improve traffic flows and link a must-see attraction to three otherwise aging and somewhat lackluster properties.

The project will be managed by Caruso Affiliated, the same firm that manages The Grove shopping center, which has become L.A’s place to be seen. Hopefully they can pull off something similar with the Linq and its 200,00 feet of retail space, which will be located along a narrow corridor not too different from that occupied by the Grove.

This project has been rumored for a while, so time will tell if it pans out, but with a proposed completion date in 2013, it appears Caesars is ready to move forward and get this done. Keep your fingers crossed that everything moves ahead, because this could be one cool Vegas attraction.

Chapel of the Flowers Wedding Packages

by admin on August 13, 2011

The Chapel of the Flowers is located on the far north end of the Strip at 1717 Las Vegas Boulevard South, across from the Stratosphere and not far from downtown. It is one of the best looking free standing chapels in all of Vegas.

In addition to its quaint “little white church” structure, the chapel also maintains quite beautiful grounds, including a lovely gazebo area for its intimate outdoor ceremonies along with truly picture-perfect photo shoots.

Here is a great little video tour of their facility they made that shows of not only the chapels but also the grounds and a number of their packages too.

The package deals at the Chapel of the Flowers are really quite outstanding, not only in price but also in what they include. For instance, even the lower cost plans include live streaming of your ceremony, a recording of which remains online afterwards for anyone who missed it to watch.

This is a great services that allows even distant relatives to participate in your wedding and feel like a part of your special day, even if they live half way around the world.

There are several different chapels on the property, each with its own unique style and motif. There is the La Capella Chapel, with its Venetian style and mahogany pews. Then there’s the trendy and modern Magnolia chapel, with sculpted metal chandeliers. Finally, there is the Victorian Chapel, with a beautiful traditional look, including velvet drapes.

From the chapels to the beautiful grounds to the helpful staff, I was very impressed with this little chapel. It really is one of the best in Las Vegas and a great place for a wedding, economical but still beautiful too. If you are looking for a free standing chapel with all-inclusive type package deals, this should be near the top of your list.
