One of the stunning new hotels located within Las Vegas’s CityCenter resort complex, the Mandarin Oriental Hotel is much smaller than the neighboring Aria and Vdara hotels with 392 rooms (vs. 4004 in the Aria and 1495 in the Vdara).
The Mandarin Oriental Hotel, while housed in a building with 57 floors, is much more akin to a boutique hotel than a large Vegas resort, yet it is housed within the much larger CityCenter complex, so you get the best of both worlds when you stay here.
The hotel is designed and decorated in true Asian metropolitan style, and offers the highest level of service and has been compared favorably to the Four Seasons. In addition to the establishment’s AAA five diamond award, the Spa at Mandarin Oriental was named a Forbes Five-Star recipient for excellence.
The rooms are decorated with a sleek, modern/Asian decor. The bathrooms are quite beautiful too, and feature Japanese style soaking tubs and double sinks.
The hotel has two pools, which are not large but are quiet and excellent for relaxing or swimming laps. This is the polar opposite of your typical high end Vegas pool party resort. You come here to be pampered, to receive excellent service, and to experience cosmopolitan luxury.
It’s the perfect place to escape and get away from it all, while still being just a hop skip and a jump from the action on the Vegas Strip.
The hotel has no casino, but one is a stone’s throw away in the neighboring Aria Hotel (and it’s one of the biggest and most beautiful casinos in all of Vegas).
There are five excellent bars and restaurants at the hotel, including one, Twist, that is absolutely a world-class dining establishment. The five bars and restaurants are:
- Twist, which offers fusion cuisine from Michelin three-star chef, Pierre Gagnaire.
- MOZen Bistro, which serves everything from Indian to Thai to Japanese cuisine.
- Pool Cafe, which serves light meals during both breakfast and lunch.
- Tea Lounge, on the 23rd floor, which serves tea, coffee and snacks .
- Mandarin Bar, which has a great view of the Strip.
If you are looking to be in the middle of the action, this might not be the place for you. But if you want the very best food, service, and rooms possible while having all of Vegas at your finger tips, the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Las Vegas is as good as it gets.
