Following an escalator deep down under the casino floor of the Excalibur Hotel, you are transferred to a region home to an event known as the Tournament of Kings at Excalibur, This is one fun tournament that I remember loving as a boy, and which the kids in my family now love too.
Check out this video and see what all the excitement is about. What kids (and adults) wouldn’t love knights jousting on real stallions in a show with great lights, explosions, smoke, and loud music?
Throw in great food for everyone to enjoy, and you can see why the show is such a hit for families. It’s just a blast to watch and participate in. You get to take sides and cheer on your guys as they joust.
It’s wild, it’s old school, and it’s pure adrenaline pumping fun, and that never gets old from one generation to the next.
Now you might not think that the girls would be as into this as the boys, but they always seem to love it just as much. There is something very cathartic about tearing into meat and cheering for your man on horseback with your mouth full, and that applies equally to men and to women, boys, and girls.
The event takes place is a nice little arena under the hotel and you get the feeling when entering that you are almost heading back in time.
The arena is divided into seven different “countries” who are assigned knights that compete against each other. Cheering on your guy is half the fun. The other half is jeering the losing teams.
Of course, it’s all in good fun and really quite light hearted. It’s not voiolent enough to scare most kids, but it’s loud and fast enough to keep most of them engaged and cheering.
It’s the perfect family outing in Vegas, fun, not that expensive, and with food to keep your kids busy easting when they are not cheering.
