North Vegas Strip Hotels and Casinos
There are a number of exceptional new resorts and casinos located in the North Las Vegas Strip area (I’m referring to the area north of Flamingo Boulevard, both on and off Las Vegas Boulevard).
These places include the following hotels and resorts:
- Caesars Palace
- Imperial Palace
- Treasure Island
- Circus Circus
These hotels range from a couple of the latest additions, the Wynn, Encore, and Palazzo, along with some old-time favorites like Harrah’s, Imperial Palace, Flamingo, and the Riviera Hotel and Casino.
Which hotel you choose to stay at generally depends on both your budget and on what type of experience you are looking for during your stay in Vegas.
At the northern end of the strip, the Wynn is an oasis of lush foliage, waterfalls, and, of course, its world-class golf course, reserved for the use of those staying at the resort.
Circus Circus and Stratosphere are even further afield, but can be good for those who just want to stay put and play (or, for those with kids on a budget, in the case of Circus Circus).
But if you really want to be in the mix, it’s hard to beat Caesars Palace of the Flamingo Hilton, both of which are located at the heart of the strip. And if you are on a budget, the Imperial Palace is a lower cost option right next to the Flamingo, though it can be a bit of a maze to navigate from your room to the Strip at the Imperial.
Fortunately, there are some good transportation options if you want to look around a bit too. A free tram runs between Treasure Island and the Mirage, and a moderately priced bus called “the Deuce” runs the length of the Strip (it’s about $7 for a day pass). Lines can be long and buses crowded at peak times, so bear that in mind.
If you have trouble getting around, know that it is entirely possible to have a fantastic vacation just staying in your own resort, especially at a place like Wynn, Caesars, or the Venetian/Palazzo. These places have it all – dining, shopping, great food options of all kinds, and amazing pools too.
