Circus Circus Las Vegas

Circus Circus Las Vegas has always been all about the kids, young and old. It’s never been a luxury hotel, and it has never tried to compete for the same crowds as the sophisticated resorts south on the Strip.

Are there nicer resorts in Las Vegas? Certainly many. But if you have kids and you are looking for a place with fund rides that kids will love, look no further. In a sense, this is the Chuck E. Cheese of casinos:  the kids love it, and the adults complain about the food and the noise… that is until they slip off to play the games or hop on a ride.

There are 3,773 rooms at this hotel, making it quite a large place. When it first opened way back in 1968, it was just a casino, with no hotel and no attractions for kids. But in the years since, the place has expanded and found a niche of its own, offering low priced rooms and a bunch of great rides for kids.

If you have a few extra bucks, it is definitely worth staying in one of the newly renovated rooms in the West Tower. They are similar to the quite nice Widescreen Rooms, and represent a substantial upgrade over the other rooms, many of which are still slated for renovation as of this date.

One of the latest additions to the resort is the Circus Circus Adventuredome, which is a really cool indoor theme park, with ten rides and twenty carnival style attractions. There are two roller coasters in the dome, including world’s largest indoor double-corkscrew/double-loop coaster, the Canyon Blaster.

The casino at the hotel, at close to 130,00 square feet, is one of the largest in town. So there is plenty to occupy adults while the kids are at play.

You are also not that far from the Stratosphere, another kid and family favorite that is just up the road to the north (towards downtown), and you are also close to the Las Vegas Mall and the Wynn and Encore resorts, if you want to get away for some great shopping or a more high end experience.

The bottom line here is, if you have a family, the sound of the Adventuredome appeals to your kids, and you don’t mind forgoing some of the luxuries of the higher end resorts, then you could have a fund time here. You might want to also check out the MGM Grand, Excalibur, and Mandalay Bay, all of which are kid-friendly and a bit more in the mix then Circus Circus, which is a bit off on its own.
