The Mirage Las Vegas Hotel and Casino

Back when Steve Wynn first opened the hotel in 1989, the Mirage was all the rage in Vegas. Nobody had ever seen anything like it, with it’s large scale and  it’s massive volcano and waterfall that stopped traffic every time it erupted.

While there are now much bigger hotels with even more spectacular features and twice as many rooms, the Mirage is still a beautiful hotel that stops the traffic.

With over 3000 rooms in its stunning tower and a casino with 100,000 square feet of floor space, this is still a mega resort. And while Siegfried and Roy, once its star attraction, have long since retired, the Mirage continues to innovate with great new acts and shows, including the Beatle’s LOVE Cirque du Soleil show.

The hotel’s distinctive feature is it’s tropical-themed exterior, with the volcano and waterfalls setting the mood that extends into the large atrium area, with its glass dome and interior waterfalls.

The lobby is known for it’s absolutely huge aquarium, that holds 20,000 gallons of water and contains over 1000 different fish and other aquatic animals. The Mirage remains today as classy and classic as it was when it opened.

The Mirage has a really beautiful pool area that remains one of the most popular in all of the city. Like the rest of the hotel, it is tropical themed and lush, with palms, waterfalls, and all sorts of tropical foliage.

The popular pool club Bare is open all summer long at a private pool area here. Known for some of the hottest bodies in the city, Bare also has a gorgeous, classic pool and equally classy grounds and club area.

In the hotel are two more renowned nightclubs, JET nightclub and the Beatles-inspired Revolution lounge, the first club designed in association with Cirque du Soleil.

Also in the hotel are the B.B. King Blues Club and the King Ink Tattoo Studio and Bar, so there is no shortage of nightlife options at the mirage.

For kids and adults alike, there is the wonderful Secret Garden and Marine Habitat, where trainers let vistors get up close and personal with bottlenose dolphins, and the dolphins put on displays throughout the day.

You can even arrange to be a dolphin trainer for a day, and get right in the water, feeding the dolphins and interacting with them up close. It’s a totally amazing experience.
