The Palazzo Las Vegas is one of the most spectacular and beautiful hotels in all of the city, and given the level of amazing resorts that have opened in the past decade, that is saying quite a lot.
This is one huge hotel. In fact, when it opened, it supplanted the Pentagon as the largest single structure in the United States. It has over 3,000 rooms and aother 375 concierge-level suites.
Adjacent to its sister hotel, the equally elegant and beautiful Venetian, the Palazzo rises 50 stories or 642 feet (196 meters) tall, making it the tallest finished structure in Las Vegas.
The views from the tower are absolutely spectacular, and the rooms are gorgeous too. You can see why this place received the coveted five-diamond rating – it is utterly beautiful inside and out, classy, and crafted with an attention to quality and detail too. Everything from the lobby to the shopping area is well made, high end, and beautiful.
You know when a resort has the only Lamborghini dealership in town that it’s a luxurious kind of place. Throw in a huge three story Barneys New York department store, always a favorite of Hollywood stars, and you know you have one popular hotel amongst the upper crust.
Yet despite its opulence and pedigree, the Palazzo is a very welcoming place, from the people that work in the lobby to the waitresses that roam the casino, serving drinks to anyone who takes a seat at a slot or a table. The owners say they were trying to replciate the friendliness and warmth of Italy, and judging from the staff I have met, they definitely succeeded.
Palazzo Entertainment and Shopping
This place has some incredible shopping, some of the best in Las Vegas – and that says a lot, given the caliber of shopping in town these days.
The Shoppes at The Palazzo are beautiful, and they connect with the equally elegant Grand Canal Shoppes at the Venetian, which have indoor canals and rides on real gondolas with singing gondoliers.
In addition to the 3 floor Barneys, you can find intimate boutiques from some of the world’s very best clothing designers, including Manolo Blahnik, Jimmy Choo, Chloé, Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors, and Prada.
There are also 19 great restaurants to choose from in the Palazzo, everything from I Love Burgers to Table 10 by Emeril Lagasse, Wolfgang Puck’s CUT, and Chef Simon To’s Zine.
For night life, you can catch the hit musical Jersey Boys, or head to the Venetian for the Blue Man Group or Phantom – The Las Vegas Spectacular, then follow it all up with a night at the two story restaurant and night club, LAVO, where you can order a hookah, and lounge back on pillows Middle Eastern style.
