The Bellagio Hotel is one of Las Vegas’ most spectacular and truly gorgeous properties. While newer resorts such as the Wynn and City Center might be getting more press, the Bellagio remains as elegant as it gets in Las Vegas.
The magnificent Bellagio fountains are still the most popular and most breathtaking attraction on the entire Strip. With choreographed shows every half hour in the afternoon and every 15 minutes at night, the fountains seem to draw even bigger crowds today than they did when the place opened more than a decade ago.
The fountains are filled with water pumped from an on-site well dug to irrigate the old Dunes golf course, and the water is pumped through some 1,200 nozzles. The show also incorporates over 4,000 lights.
Inside, the hotel is every bit as spectacular as it is on the outside, with ornate tile-mosaic floors in the lobby and parts of the casino area, an amazing atrium area, high-end shops, and a simply enormous and beautiful pool area, the Bellagio seems to go on and on forever. In fact, you could explore the place for days and still not see everything.
The meeting rooms and wedding chapels are equally as beautiful as the rest of the property, with long, elegantly decorated corridors leading to the huge banquet rooms and more intimate chapels.
The hotel itself has really great service, and the rooms are top-notch. You can get some incredible, unobstructed views of either the mountains or the fountains and the Las Vegas Strip.
Bellagio is also home to its very on Cirque production, “O” (short for eau, the French word for “water”), which, like the Bellagio resort itself, is water themed. It’s described as part opera, part circus, and part aquatics show, and it is performed over and in a mammoth 1.5 million gallon tank of water. It’s really quite an amazing show and I definitely recommend it if you are staying at the hotel (and even if you are not).
The property is so large and spectacular, it would be easy to spend an entire vacation on-site, without even leaving the hotel. Between the amazing pools, the classy casino, and the assortment of wonderful bars and restaurants, you might not even feel the need to venture to the many other great resorts, casinos, or attractions in the Las Vegas area.
But if you feel the need to explore a bit, a tram connects the report with the neighboring City Center and Aria Hotel, with its incredible new shopping mall, with every high end store you could imagine. The Aria is also home to another Cirque du Soleil show, the brand new ELVIS.
The same tram also connects you with the Monte Carlo Hotel and Casino, in case you would like to try your luck at a different set of tables or dine at any of that property’s 10 wonderful bars and restaurants.
The Bellagio Vegas is simply an amazing hotel. The craftsmanship that went into building the place is still very much in evidence today, and improvements are continually being made, keeping the hotel and casino up to date. So if you are looking for a classic, stylish, and truly fantastic experience in Vegas, it is worth paying to stay here, if it is within your budget.
