Only in Las Vegas could a beautiful hotel with almost 3,000 rooms get almost lost in the shuffle and settle into the background. But that’s exactly what seems to happen with the Monte Carlo Hotel and Casino.
Built in 1996, this is a very nice hotel. With 32 floors, the rooms can come with extraordinary views of the Strip and surroundings. And it is located about half way down the South Strip, so it is convenient to many other resorts, notably New York, New York and the MGM.
But maybe the coolest feature of the Monte Carlo is a tram that takes you to the adjacent Aria at CityCenter, the gorgeous Crystals shopping complex at CityCenter, and the Bellagio. This free elevated tram gives you quick and easy access to two of the most beautiful and elegant Casinos on the Strip along with a fast way to get to the North Strip.
But there is plenty to see and do at the Monte Carlo itself, and the rooms are quite beautiful, not a bad place to stay while in Vegas and often quite a bit less than staying at a place like the Bellagio.
Monte Carlo Entertainment and Shopping
The Monte Carlo has over 20,000 square feet of shopping space, including the Street of Dreams shops, with Marshall Rousso, Misura, Optica, and Harley Davidson , Luxury for Less, and the Monte Carlo Boutique. But the best shopping is available by hopping the tram right at the Street of Dreams and taking it two stops to the Crystals mall.
There isn’t a lot of night life at the hotel, just a couple bars. But again, just hop the tram and you can be at any number of great nightclubs at CityCenter or Bellagio.
The pool area at the Monte Carlo is also quite exceptional, complete with a wave pool and a lazy river. It’s not up to the level of the pools at MGM Grand or Mandalay Bay, but the kids and adults will love it nonetheless.
This is a great hotel for families too, since there are no raunchy clubs to have to avoid, the pools are kid friendly, and the tram makes it easy to get around (especially in the hot summer months).
There are also a number of shows at the resort, including Jabbawockeez and comedian and impressionist Frank Caliendo.
