5. LOVE by Cirque du Soleil (at the Mirage Resort)
LOVE is a great show, whether or not you are a rabid Beatles fan. It has an incredible set, wonderful sound and visuals, and all the usual trappings you’d expect in a Cirque show, namely incredible feats of acrobatics, gymnastics, dance, and strength.
4. Phantom – The Las Vegas Spectacular (at the Venetian)
The longest running and top grossing musical of all time, now in Las Vegas and better than ever. In its own specially designed theater that makes you part of the show. It’s musical theater at its most spectacular.
3. O by Cirque du Soleil (at Bellagio)
Set over, around, and in a huge 1.5 million gallon water tank, O is an incredible spectacle. The set pieces are phenomenal, the acrobatics, diving, and special effects are incredible, and the show includes costumes and music from around the world.
2. Le Rêve (at Wynn Resort)
Also incorporating a huge water tank and phenomenal aquatics into the show, Le Rêve is a surreal and dream-like masterpiece that is somewhat like the next generation of “O”. Set in a theater in the round, with no seat more than 40 feet from teh stage, it is an incredible show.
1. KÀ by Cirque du Soleil (at MGM Grand)
An ancient tale of twins separated as youngsters and their quest to be reunited, KÀ is an incredible production, with the most elaborate sets and stunts of any Cirque show to date. It is a show for young and old alike, and it is simply breathtaking.
These shows are all incredible, and you should see all of them if you can, either on your first trip to Vegas or over a series of trips. Of course, if you wait too long, there will be even more incredible shows to add to your list, starting with Michael Jackson: The Immortal by Cirque, coming to the Mandalay Bay in 2013.
