Las Vegas Wedding Venues: Small Chapels
There are literally dozens of Las Vegas wedding venues, from those at large resorts to those smaller, independent chapels that Vegas is so famous for, where such celebrities as Frank Sinatra, Paul Newman, and Elvis Presley were so famously married.
The largest number of the independent chapels are located around the downtown area, conveniently located near the Clark County Clerk’s office, where you need to go to get your wedding license.
You can fill out an online form to pre-apply for a marriage license, then head over to the county Office of Civil Marriages when you arrive in town to get your license – before you get married. They are located at 309 South 3rd Street, Las Vegas, NV 89101.
No blood test is required, just a legal ID and 60 dollars (plus a 5 dollar fee for credit card payments). There is no waiting period to get married, and the Clerk’s office is (as of this writing) open 8AM to Midnight, 365 days a year .
Chapels around downtown range from cute, quaint structures built to resemble country churches to store fronts in strip malls.
Among the best in this area is the Little Chapel of the Flowers, which is in a cute white structure with a picture-perfect steeple. Another great (and famous) option on the Strip near downtown is the Graceland Wedding Chapel. A who’s who of rock and country stars have been married here, from Jon Bon Jovi to Billy Ray Cyrus.
On the south end of the strip is another wonderful little chapel known as the Little Church of the West Wedding Chapel. Set back on a green lawn, surrounded by trees, this place has the feel of a church from a quaint, old Western town.
The interior is rustic, but beautiful. It’s located right across from the Mandalay Bay Hotel, and it is one of the best options for a wedding in a free-standing chapel in Las Vegas.
